DHN-910 Quick Starter Guide & Networking Basics

To install your Network Adapters you will be opening each of your computers and inserting the Network Adapters in an available PCI bus mastering expansion slot. Please read the manual and any safety documentation that may have come with your computer. It is important that you understand all cautions and safety measures recommended by the computer's manufacturer before proceeding.

Under ordinary circumstances, your Network Adapters and computer will not be affected by static charges received from your body during handling. However, under special circumstances, your body or the surrounding atmosphere may contain an extraordinary high static charge -– which could negatively affect electronic components.

A. Power OFF your computer and unplug its power cord.

B. Remove your computer’s chassis cover as specified in your computer’s user manual.

C. Locate any available PCI Bus Master expansion slot on your computer’s system board. See example below.

D. Remove the available PCI slot’s back plate (the small piece of metal that covers the opening on the back of the computer immediately behind the available slot). If the back plate was secured with a screw, retain the screw to secure your Network Adapter.

E. Gently insert the DHN-520 into the available PCI slot. Press the card firmly into the slot and make sure the card contacts are seated fully into the slot.

F. Secure the Network Adapter with the screw retained from the back plate removal or a spare screw that accompanied your system.

G. Replace your computer’s chassis cover and repeat these steps for your other computer.
